Fellow Garden Charmer Melissa, The Empress of Dirt is hosting the 1st Annual Crack-Me-Up-O-Lantern Pumpkin Decorating Contest over on her blog and on our Garden Charmers Facebook page.
She challenged each of us Garden Charmers to create our very own version of a jack-o-lantern using items found around the home and garden. You know I’m always up for a challenge, so I quickly emailed Melissa and told her “game on”.
May I present to you Miss Pumpkin Seed 2014!!
She’s ready for the ball with her coiffure of curly leaves. Enough to put a grapevine stem smile on her face. Her eyes are sparkling with echinacea seed heads. But her nose is a little runny as the blue spruce was a bit sappy. She’ll raise Thai chili eyebrows as she rolls into the room with her grapevine tiara.
No diamonds for this natural lady. Her tiara is aglow with chrysanthemum flowers. She had her “colours” done and was told she was an autumn. That was not a surprise – with her coppery hair, deep brown eyes and orange undertone to her skin, it made sense. So when designing the tiara, she asked the jeweller to include topaz coloured flowers to match her own personal season.
Miss Pumpkin Seed is off to the ball – well actually to be linked up on The Empress of Dirt’s Crack-Me-Up-O-Lantern Decorating Contest. Maybe she’ll meet her Prince Charming there.
Be sure to get in on the fun with your own creation before Sunday, October 26th. Head on over to The Empress of Dirt to check out some of the other terrific pumpkins.
